Frequently Asked Questions
Will there be a hotel block?
Yes, there will be hotel blocks in Brighton and in Northville for the duration of the wedding weekend. Please choose the hotel block location that is most comfortable for you; however, we recommend booking at the Brighton block due to proximity to the events. We can guarantee a shuttle service to and from the venue and Brighton hotel blocks for the Hindu Ceremony and Reception events. Please check the Travel Info tab for hotel block details.
Please note that due to University of Michigan’s first game day coinciding with the wedding weekend, hotels in Brighton are expected to book up and prices will rise quickly. We suggest to reserve your spot ASAP.
Are the events adults only?
Our wedding weekend will be filled with lively music, dancing, and late-night celebrations—an atmosphere we've designed with adults in mind and one that may not be ideal for little ones. We hope this gives parents an opportunity to let loose and enjoy themselves! That said, we know securing childcare isn't always easy, and the last thing we want is for anyone to miss these special moments. Your children are welcome to attend all events and participate in the festivities.
Can I wear an Indian outfit?
Of course! Please note that these are India based retailers, so shipping may take 4-8 weeks. Additionally, Indian return policies are generally for a partial refund or store credit only - please double check measurements and specific return policies before ordering.
Please email buchananrajuwedding@gmail.com or text the bride if you have any questions on purchasing an India outfit. Check out the Events tab for theme and dress code for each event.
Do I need to change after the Hindu Ceremony?
If you received an invitation for the Reception following the Ceremony, please wear what feels comfortable for you. We recognize that there are multiple events throughout the weekend so do not feel the need to have a new outfit each for each one. We would love our guests to wear what makes them feel good - whether it’s an Indian outfit for both Ceremony + Reception, Indian outfit for the Ceremony and American outfit for the Reception, or American outfit for both! All we ask is that guests maintain formal attire and refrain from wearing red for the Hindu Ceremony. Please note that there will be several hours between the Ceremony and Reception providing time for you to relax and change, if you wish.
